Note: The Assessment Panel role is required for this step, though the Program Manager can also submit reviews on behalf of Assessment Panel members. Assessment Panel members serve as a first filter for the Program Manager, who has final say in approvals in the next step. Roles are assigned when creating the funding program.
While in the Review & Approve stage, applications ready for review have In Progress status. Clicking an application’s Actions icon opens a menu with two options.
- Choose View to see only the submitted application.
- Choose Review to see the submitted application and assessment process side-by-side.
While reviewing, the completed application appears on the left. On the right, Assessment Panel team members are listed first, followed by the Program Manager.
Ideally, all Assessment Panel members will complete their reviews, after which the Program Manager will make the final decision. If needed, the Program Manager can click Review on behalf of an Assessment Panel team member.
Assessment panel members can review applications as they come in, and should complete all application reviews before the Review Completion Date.
To get started, click Review.
Note: If your only role is Assessment Panel, you can click only your own Review link. The Program Manager can click any Assessment Panel member’s Review link, to complete their review by proxy if needed. The Program Manager can also add more proxy reviews before the final approval step.
The review criteria on the right reflect the selected review criteria template, and can be expanded to see more detail. Assign a score for each question.
At the bottom, below the score tally, enter a comment directed to the Program Manager explaining your decision. This comment will not be shared with the applicant. Then click Reject or Approve.
Your decision will now be listed in the Review Application section. Clicking the + icon will expand to show review details.
Each completed review will be reflected in the Review Progress slider and Score.
- Review Progress reaches 100% when each Assessment Panel member, and the Program Manager, have all weighed in. In this example, only one of the three total team members has submitted their review.
- The Score in this example reflects input from one of our two Assessment Panel members.
Each application should get an Approved or Rejected decision from each Assessment Panel member.
In this example, after both Assessment Panel team members have completed their reviews, Review Progress increases to 67%, and Score is a total of both reviewers’ scores.
As mentioned earlier, the Program Manager can fill in any missing Assessment Panel reviews, by clicking the relevant Review link. Be sure to note that this is a proxy review.
The Program Manager can also proceed to final approval without all Assessment Panel reviews, if needed.
Once the Assessment Panel has had their say, the next step is final application approval from the Program Manager.
